Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 34.5 hour contract RGN to come and join our team on the Older Persons Assessment Unit (OPAU). 

The unit consists of 28 beds and a day case clinic Monday- Friday for the older person  to be rapid assessed (OPRA) to prevent unnecessary  hospital admissions.

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, kind, compassionate and reliable. We pride ourselves in delivering high quality, safe care of all of our patients.

 

Main duties of the job

As OPAU is an assessment unit we do have a high number of discharges/admissions as our aim is to discharge patients efficiently and safely. 

Applicants must possess great interpersonal skills and be confident in working alongside all members of the multi disciplinary team.

We have an excellent preceptorship program and are happy to support applications from newly qualified nurses.

  • 1 st Level NMC Registration
  • Evidence of Professional Development
  • Suitable for newly qualified or experienced staff nurse
  • Experience of maintaining accurate records
  • Relevant clinical knowledge and experience
Desirable criteria
  • Act as a practice supervisor
  • Willing to undertake Practice Assessor Training
  • Relevant Degree or willing to register to work towards degree
  • Relevant or willingness to undertake relevant module/course
  • NHS Experience
  • Awareness of Health Policies and the changing NHS environment
