We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic registered nurse who is looking for a new challenge in there career. If you are in a biologic nursing career or have dermatological experience please read on.
This is an exciting opportunity to be in a leading role delivering high quality care and providing support to the Dermatology Biologic patients and their families and helping to develop and expand our services.
The role involves supporting the Multidisciplinary Team providing high quality service for biologic patients and their families throughout their journey with us.
The successful candidate will be developed to obtain skills to enable them to manage and maintain a case load of biologic patients, undertaking nurse-led clinics and performing diagnostic tests enabling patients to have the best appropriate treatment suited for them.
You will play a key role in co-ordination of the patient pathway and will be an advocate for our patients. A back ground in Biologics or Dermatology care would be essential to the role. The post holder will demonstrate excellent organisational skills, an ability to prioritise workload, be flexible in approach, be able to exercise initiative and demonstrate a consistently high level of professionalism.
Main duties of the job
- Leads on the implementation and monitoring of adherence to relevant clinical guidelines.
- Takes personal responsibility for ensuring effective communication between all service providers.
- Actively participates in multi-professional meetings, acting as patient advocate and representing nursing views.
- Acts as a role model for excellent advanced communication skills and expertise.

The post holder will have excellent communication skills and have an ability to deal with potentially difficult and highly emotive situations in a sensitive manner.
It is essential to have basic IT skills and previous experience working with CERNER, clinical examination and non-medical prescribing experience will be an advantage
Although seeking a current band 7 with the essential criteria we would be accepting of a current band 6 level with most of the essential criteria with a keen willingness of working towards other aspects of the essential criteria. This would be reflective in the pay to start off with.

Essential criteria
- Current NMC Registration and evidence of post-registration training
- ENB 998 or equivalent teaching qualification
- Recognised qualification in Diagnostic skills
- Training in nationally recognise advanced communication skills
- Lesion recognition and dermoscopy course
- Ability to recognize and treat inflammatory skin disease
- Evidence of professional updating
- Ability to identify patients for BADBIR and instigate registration
- Minimum of 5 years post qualification experience in dermatology clinical area
- Significant experience in dermatological skin diseases
- Evidence of service development and the ability to implement change
- Ability to provide assessment, planning and implement management of skin conditions
- Experience of teaching in a variety of formal and informal settings
- Full knowledge and experience in skin assessment tools used to monitor disease progression
- Clinical examination course
- Non-medical prescribing

- Able to analyse data and provide written reports
- Intermediate IT skills in word processing and spreadsheets
