Job overview
An excellent opportunity to join Wirral 0-19 service within Birkenhead area for a Health Visitor . This is a full time post within an area with high deprivation and need . It is a full time post that will complement the exsisting team . The team have excellent partnerships with external agencies and work collboratively within Family Hubs and Early years .
We are lookng for someone with excellent communication skills who is able to manage caseload , maintain accurate records and remains up to date with knowledge and skills and in return can offer an excellent role within an areas keen to support continuous professional development .
Main duties of the job
Health Visiting role offering care delivery as aligned to the Healthy Child Programme . Searching and identifying for health needs and responding with intervention and care that can support children to thrive .

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Health Promotion and Education:
- Provide advice on a range of health issues such as nutrition, breastfeeding, weaning, dental care, hygiene, and safety.
- Offer guidance on parenting skills and child development.

Child Development
- regular assessments of a child's physical, emotional, and social development.
- Identify any developmental concerns and work with families to address these issues.

Support for Families:
- Offer support to parents, particularly new mothers and fathers, on adjusting to parenthood.
- Provide emotional support and advice for parents facing challenges such as postnatal depression.

Safeguarding Children:
- Identify and respond to signs of child abuse or neglect.
- Work with other agencies to protect children and ensure their well-being.

Community Health Improvement:
- Participate in community health initiatives and campaigns.
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, schools, and community organisations.

Home Visits:
- Provide personalised advice and support in the family's own environment.

Health Assessments and Screening:
- health checks and developmental reviews for children.
- provide information on vaccination schedules.

Referrals and Liaison:
- Refer families to specialised services when necessary, such as speech and language therapists, social services, or mental health professionals.
- Maintain effective communication with GPs, other health professionals .

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- RN (Adult or Child/ RSCN) or RM
- BSC / SCPHN -Health Visiting
- V100 Nurse Prescribing
- Leadership Level 6
- Mentorship Level 6
- Motivational Interviewing
- Solihulll Approach
Desirable criteria
- Promtional Interviewing Trained
- Promtional Interviewing Trained
- Leadership Level 7
Experience and Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Experience of managing a HV caseload
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Experience of leading the assessment , planning and evaluation of care
- Expereince of integreted working
- Ability to use email , internet and word processing software
- Sound knowledge of safeguarding issues
