Job overview

Ward A6  at Wythenshawe Hospital of Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust are seeking experienced or newly qualified Registered Nurses to join our team. Ward A6 is an emergency surgical admitting ward which provides care for acutely unwell patients that may require surgical intervention. 

Ward A6 provides care for mainly General surgery patients but also receives patients from other surgical specialties from ED including  Urology, Orthopedic, Plastics, ENT and Max Fax. 

We are seeking proactive, forward-thinking Nurses who have patient care and experience at their heart. You will possess adept communication skills, be motivated and eager to embrace variety in a fast-paced environment.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will assess, plan, evaluate and deliver all relevant aspects of patient care in a caring, compassionate and sensitive manner. Work closely with the multi-disciplinary team and contribute to the clinical governance process. Act as a mentor/preceptor to junior staff, with specific responsibility for pre-registration students. The post holder will take delegated responsibility for the management of the clinical team and the maintenance of high standards of quality patient care on a shift basis.

  • Degree Level 6 study

Experience

  • Awareness of clinical Audit
  • Experience of working alone and as part of a team
  • Ability to supervise and support others
  • Evidence of teaching and assessing skills/ability
