This is an exciting opportunity to join us as a band 6 Community Midwife. 
The successful post holder will work within an already established team to provide a high standard of personalised and evidence-based care to women/birthing people throughout pregnancy and beyond.

Main duties of the job

  • The post holder will practise as a midwife within the Community maternity services at The Hillingdon Hospital working pro-rata and on-calls.
  •  The post holder will be part of the well-established Community Midwives teams.
  •   To deliver care in the Community setting- home visits, Children’s Centres
  • Occasionally running clinics in the hospital setting.
  • To be on-call as the second midwife at homebirths.
  • The Midwife is responsible and accountable for their own midwifery practice.
  •   Plan and deliver evidence-based midwifery care in partnership with the birthing person in the antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal period, ensuring liaison with all relevant agencies and escalation to members of the multi-disciplinary team as required.
  • To provide antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care, reporting any deviations from the normal to a more senior member of the team.
  •  Practice within the parameters of both local and national guidance always ensuring compliance with the specific standards set.

The Trust’s services at Mount Vernon Hospital include routine day surgery, delivered at a modern treatment centre, a minor injuries unit and outpatient clinics.
