Community Learning Disability Nurse
NHS AfC: Band 6
Job overview
Are you interested in developing your nursing career? If so then we would love for you to join our Community Learning Disability Team and help make a difference to people with Learning Disabilities in the London Borough of Hillingdon.
We are keen to invest in the development of new practitioners joining our service to enhance their knowledge, skills, clinical practice, leadership and confidence in working in this area. We are therefore looking for applicants who either have experience in working with people with learning disabilities or have a good foundation of transferable skills and an interest to develop in this area.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a candidate who is able to deliver a range of specialised health needs assessment and treatment plans for service users living in the community. Evidence of sound clinical skills and ability to communicate with this client group is essential to the role, as well as being able to deliver multiple care and treatment goals within a community setting.
Although the role requires clinicians to work autonomously, you will be supported by a robust multidisciplinary team consisting of Psychiatrists, Nurse/Deputy Manager, Psychologist, Psychotherapist and Speech & Language Therapist as well the wider Adult Social Care Disability Team.
Working for our organisation
We are keen to invest in our staff and in return we can offer a stimulating working environment with opportunities for further professional development in this specialised field of Learning Disabilities.
The Hillingdon Community Learning Disability Team is located in the Civic Centre, High Street Uxbridge and is accessible via the Metropolitan & Piccadilly tube stations.
