West London NHS Trust provides a full range of mental health, community and physical healthcare services for children, adults and older people living in the London boroughs of Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham and Hounslow.
We also provide some specialist services that are commissioned regionally, such as our medium secure services; and nationally, such as the Cassel Hospital for people with complex and severe personality disorder and our high secure services at Broadmoor Hospital.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the Triborough Eating Disorder Team which is at Ealing CAMHS which is based at 1 Armstrong Way, Southall UB2 4SA.
The CAMHS Eating Disorder Service is part of the Tier 3 West London CAMH Service, which also includes an neuro-developmental team, adolescent team, learning disability team and child and family team. The Service also links to a comprehensive Tier 2 CAMH Service, CAMHS Crisis Prevention/Care Team (ALLIANCE). The post holder will be part of a growing team of clinicians with a special interest and expertise in working with children, and young people, who are presenting with complex mental health needs.
The Clinical Nurse Specialist will also join a thriving team of supportive, committed and skilled nurses who are dedicated to changing the future outcomes for children and young people who present to mental health services.

As a Clinical Nurse Specialist you will provide mental health assessment and specialist intervention for children, young people and families referred to the Service. You will also undertake risk assessments of children, young people and their families/carers and collaboratively develop, review and evaluate risk management plans. Additionally, will engage with statutory and voluntary agencies to ensure that the needs of young people with acute, complex, long-standing and/or severe mental health problems are appropriately assessed, contained, and treated.
As a Clinical Nurse Specialist you will also have the opportunity to deliver a range of psychotherapeutic interventions for children and young people and their families including running evidence-based therapeutic groups for children, young people and families.
You will also form part of the CAMHS Nursing Supervision Structure and will offer supervision and line management as appropriate to members of the nursing team.

In addition to receiving regular supervision, all staff have access to training and development opportunities in line with their agreed development needs. Staff are also encouraged to be involved in quality improvement projects, audit and research, as well as to take a lead for areas of special interest, such as safeguarding, transitions, SEND.
Our staff are currently providing a blend of face to face clinical contact as well as clinical contact via virtual platforms, resulting in a combination of onsite and remote working.

We are seeking a dynamic, ambitious, and motivated CAMH Clinical Nurse Specialist who has experience working in CAMH Services and is looking to take the next step in their career pathway.
We are looking to appoint a Clinical Nurse Specialist who is able to demonstrate a commitment to creative engagement with a culturally diverse population of young people, shows initiative, is a team player and is able to communicate ideas clearly to both professionals and young people alike. Ability to demonstrate knowledge, competence and an interest in working with children who present with complex mental health needs is essential for the role. The Clinical Nurse Specialist will also need to be flexible and have the necessary skills and experience to provide high quality care that is both evidence based and client focussed.
Demonstrable post qualifying experience working within multidisciplinary CAMHS settings and evidence of accredited courses in child and adolescent mental health practice are essential criteria for this post.

- Active Professional registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
- Evidence of accredited courses in child and adolescent mental health practice
- Mentorship/Teaching & assessing qualification

- First or higher degree in appropriate subject area
- Post registration training in CAMHS
- Evidence of accredited courses in child and adolescent mental health practice
Other Requirements

Experience

- Significant post registration experience in mental health
- Demonstrable experience of assessment and direct work with children and adolescents with eating disorders in a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service
- Experience working with young people with in a community CAMHS setting
- Experience of providing consultation and liaison support to colleagues, referral agencies and services responsible for the care, support and wellbeing of service users and their families/carers
- Experience in assessing and managing high risk behaviours and in developing and implementing risk management plans
- Experience of management of child protection emergencies
- Experience of working in a number of ways i.e. assertive outreach, clinic based settings, home, school or other appropriate environments
- Experience of using therapeutic skills, such as CBT, Solution Focused Therapy, Family Work

Knowledge

- Knowledge of the various assessment tools used in CAMHS
