Job overview
BCG Nurse/School Immunisation Nurse (Merton, Sutton, Richmond, Kingston, Wandsworth and Hounslow)
Immunisations are an important part of the healthy child programme for young children and school-aged children. We are looking for enthusiastic registered nurses interested in joining our BCG immunisations/school Immunisation team working the Southwest London to deliver BCG immunisations/school immunisations. Full training and support will be provided.

Main duties of the job
To participate in BCG immunisations/School Age immunisation, including administration of the inhaled influenza vaccination.
To assist in the planning, preparation and delivery of BCG, school, community and home immunisation services
To work in the office on the administration tasks associated with triaging, contacting school and recording data.
To encourage children, parents/carers to participate in the immunisation programmes in line with the Department of Health policy.
To ensure children and parents/carers have adequate evidence based information to allow them to make an informed choice regarding immunisations.
To participate in the BCG programme/school immunisation programme ensuring policies and procedures are adhered to enabling safe effective administration of immunisations in the school setting.
To prepare and assist with immunisation satellite clinics held within the Trust.
Flexible working is required.

Hounslow and Richmond Community Healthcare NHS Trust (HRCH) provide a wide range of healthcare services for the population of London Borough of Richmond upon Thames and the London Borough of Hounslow.
The Clinical Services Directorates have a wide range of responsibilities to manage, including coordinating and delivering community primary care services on behalf of the Trust. A wide range of these healthcare services are delivered by staff in the community, who include medical staff, paediatric therapists, therapy assistants, health visitors, specialist nurses, nurses, nursery nurses, paediatric phlebotomists and healthcare support workers with the support of administrative staff working in localities with GPs, other health professionals, early years, education, and social care professionals.
The digitalisation of health services is underway with a requirement to become paper-light by 2023 through improving the use of digital tools and adopting mobile and agile working practices and increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of clinical delivery.
