Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust (BHRUT) is a large provider of acute services, serving a population of over 750,000 in outer North East London. The trust operates from two sites: Queen's Hospital and King George Hospital.

We are looking for a highly motivated, responsible person with a strong sense of accountability to fulfil this exciting role of Deputy Matron for Neuro ITU to join our Deputy Matron team to provide senior nursing leadership to the Trust's Critical Care Unit at Queen's Hospital.

The role requires an individual who is consistently supportive to promote exceptional teamwork and who will be able to nurture a positive culture. You will possess excellent communication skills, and an ability to work as a team member whilst retaining a leadership role. You will bring with you a proven track record of managing people and have experience in similar clinical environments.

The post holder will be an integral member of the Anaesthetic Division and provide visible nursing leadership within the critical care services. The post holder will deputise for the Lead Nurse for critical care as required.

The post holder will utilise clinical expertise, leadership skills, education, and management to ensure a seamless service for patients, carers, and staff, providing advice, support and information.

The post holder will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure a co-ordinated quality service and will be actively involved in ensuring a high-quality safe service for patient and staff leading on education, audit, and research as appropriate.

Patients across north east London are benefitting from two new state of the art theatres at KGH and our Community Diagnostic Centres at Barking Community Hospital and St George’s Health and Wellbeing Hub will significantly increase the number of scans that can be carried out.

We’re looking forward to introducing an electronic patient record next year. This will mean the records of any patient visiting one of the seven hospitals run by BHRUT and Barts Health will be accessible to the clinical teams. It’ll make things easier for staff and will be better for patients.
