Job overview
To be a professional role model, leading and co-ordinating the department team and delivering intravitreal injections as per rota.
Taking continuing responsibility and accountability for the 24-hour management and organisation of the Department. This involves managing a wide range of complex and sometimes conflicting priorities.
Provide specialist nursing advice Trust wide to support and facilitate high quality, individualised care to patients /clients and relatives/carers in collaboration with the multi professional team, in line with the local and national targets.
At all times ensure that the needs of the patient are placed at the centre of care delivery.
To be flexible in the approach to the clinical area and provide cover for any area as requested within the Western Eye Hospital.

Education/ Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse
- Post graduate qualification or experience in Ophthalmic nursing course or equivalent
- Mentorship or Equivalent Teaching Experience
Desirable criteria
- Leadership and management trainings
Experience

- 2 years previous experience in an ophthalmic environment
Skills/Knowledge/ Abilities
Essential criteria
- Leadership Skills
- Experience in administration of IVT or willingness to learn
- Willing to undertake intravitreal injections training
- Word processing skills
Desirable criteria
- Experience in Change Management Awareness of audit &Research.
