Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and driven nurse to join us as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in urology.
The ‘non-cancer’ department of Urology is made of a number of different sub-specialties focused on the diagnosis and treatment of benign urological conditions. This includes: surgical andrology, endourology and functional urology. The functional service provides a one stop outpatient clinic for patients referred with Male LUTS. In addition to the diagnostics and treatments listed above, the service offers a number of nurse led clinics like urodynamic and botox injections into the bladder.
You will be expected to demonstrate skills in communication, co-ordination of care and an ability to work flexibly within a multi-disciplinary team. Providing excellent patient experience is critical for all our patients and you will play a key role in ensuring that experience is optimized through accessible and effective communication with compassion and empathy. The post-holder will also play a key role in educating non-specialist staff and patients in the urology specialty and will therefore be expected to demonstrate experience and innovation in teaching.
The post-holder will be provided with extensive development opportunities to develop into the role of senior clinical nurse specialist and to develop skills and competencies to undertake nurse-led and advanced practice in the future.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be a member of the Trust’s urology team and undertake the role of Clinical Specialists in Urology. You will be one of two functional specialists and be part of a team of five CNSs, the others working in stones and andrology.

- Registered Nurse
- Degree in Nursing or other relevant subject
- Teaching Qualification or equivalent experience.

- Educated to or working towards master’s level qualification.
