Job overview

We are currently looking to recruit a band 5 registered nurse within Thistlewayte ward in the Medicine for the Elderly Department of St Mary's Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 registered nurses with experience in elderly medicine or newly qualified nurses with a passion for specialist medicine.

 Thistlewayte ward is a 20 bedded ward which specialises in elderly care medicine. Patients have an average length of stay of 12 days or less. We offer an environment that will enable you to develop and broaden your nursing portfolio including caring for patients with a variety of medical conditions and an in-depth understanding of frailty and hospitalised deconditioning.

Main duties of the job

  •  To provide high quality, effective, individualised care to all patients that is compassionate and caring.
  •  To assess care needs and develop, implement and evaluate them without supervision
  •  To keep up to date with skills and knowledge
