Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Staff Nurse to join our Trauma ward at the Royal London Hospital.
As the first dedicated poly-trauma ward in the UK, our Trauma Ward (12D) treats a diverse range of patients following multiple trauma admitted via the major trauma service.
We are looking for nurses with a commitment to developing our outstanding trauma services. You should have excellent communication skills; you must be friendly, approachable and demonstrate a positive attitude and the ability to keep calm in challenging situations.
You will be supported to embrace both your clinical and leadership skills and given the opportunity for professional development within a progressive team, where our nursing skills are valued by our patients, their families and all members of the Multi Disciplinary Team.
Post registration experience is desirable, however we will be able to offer an orientation programme with a designated mentor and the chance to attend relevant study days and in house training to enable you to develop within this role.
Main duties of the job
To provide the highest standard of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individualized, holistic patient care in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team.
To support junior members of staff and learners as required, and maintain own personal development with support.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The post holder will be an integral part of the nursing team actively taking part in meeting the needs of patients and of the service in accordance with agreed standards. The post holder will take on additional responsibilities at the ward manager’s request and have a group of staff that they are responsible. To provide the highest standard of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individualized, holistic patient care in conjunction with the inter-professional team. In additiona, the post holder will ensure that the daily ward activities are fulfilled and meet key performance indicators

Essential criteria
- Evidence of Nursing Degree or working towards.
- Effective Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council
