As a Band 5 Community Nurse you will be providing high quality nursing care to patients who reside in the Borough of Tower Hamlets. You will be promoting the health of this population and reducing the effects of ill health, disability and maximising the individual’s potential for independence.

We have a robust Preceptorship Nursing Programme that is supported by our dedicated Professional Development Team for our Newly Qualified Band 5 registered nurses and also for experienced nurses who are new to community nursing. In addition to this you will be supported by our team of highly experienced district nurses to ensure you reach a very high standard of clinical knowledge, skills and experience. We will also support you by providing further career developmental opportunities to become our aspiring future leaders.As well as bringing your clinical expertise and the willingness to further develop, you will also be a strong team player, an excellent communicator who is adaptable, committed, well organised and a person that works well under pressure.

Our team is an established integrated service. This will give you the opportunity to work closely with our Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Care Navigators, Mental Health Liaison Nurse and Psychologist. Our service is also supported by a team of experienced administrators. You will also have the opportunity to work closely with the local General Practices, Tower Hamlets Social Service team and other statutory and non-statutory services to meet the health and social needs of this local population. The integration and collaboration of all these disciplines and services allows all new admissions to our service to have a clinically robust assessment and treatment plan, with an emphasis to promote independent living, that is holistic, evidence based and in line with all current Best Practice Guidelines. Support and development for staff in our service is one of our main goals.
