Job overview

  • We are pleased to be offering a very exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated midwife with a passion for infant feeding to job share the  Band 7 Infant Feeding Lead Midwife role.
  • In this role, you will be responsible for leading the Infant Feeding team, supporting the Maternity staff and project lead for Level 3 Baby Friendly Initiative reassessment. 
  • The post holder will be responsible in supporting the development and co-ordination of work that improves uptake and duration of breastfeeding.

Main duties of the job

  • You will be an effective change agent, pivotal in bringing about positive changes in infant feeding practice throughout the maternity service.
  • This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to inspire, support and motivate staff. It also involves coordinating training and education, and as such will require you to have excellent teaching skills and a high standard of organisation and time management.
