Job overview
- The post holder will be required to work effectively as part of the team to ensure a high standard of care is provided.
- They will be responsible for the assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of care.
- She/he will co-ordinate care on the neonatal unit providing clear professional leadership.
- The post holder will liaise closely with parents/carers and all members of the multidisciplinary team and thus ensure effective communication of all relevant information.
- Kingston Neonatal unit is accredited BFI Level 3 and implements Fi Care throughout. Knowledge and support for these initiatives is a must in this role.
Main duties of the job
- Kingston Neonatal Unit are please to advertise for band 6 nurses to join a team of dedicated neonatal nurses serving our local community.
- Band 6 nurses have expert clinical skills and are ready for a managerial role n the neonatal unit.
- The successful applicant will provide clinical expertise on a daily basis. Take charge of the unit on a rota with 14 other band 6 nurses.
- Leading service improvement.
- Communicating with maternity and the multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications and Experience
Essential criteria
- Qualified in Neonatal Care
- BSc or equivalent
- Competent as a band 5 Neonatal Nurse
- RN (Child/Adult) or equivalent RM
Desirable criteria
- Assessing course.
