Fancy a change? We are looking for a Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our well- established urology clinical nurse specialist team.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and experienced Urology Nurse to join our team as a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) – Urology in a Band 6 development role to Band 7. This role is designed for an enthusiastic individual looking to enhance their expertise and transition into an independent nurse-led service. The successful candidate will be supported to achieve key objectives within six months, with the possibility of an extension if required. This position is ideal for an experienced Urology Nurse eager to expand their clinical and leadership skills while delivering high-quality patient care in a dynamic setting.

The post requires vision, innovation and the ability to work across professional boundaries, underpinned by a real desire to provide the highest standards of patient care.

The successful candidate will be expected to work as an autonomous practitioner, with a caseload within the team structure. To work within the Urology stones team and the cancer diagnostic team to facilitate patient care at all stages of their treatment as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Main duties of the job

You will work in collaboration with, and autonomously, as part of the Urology  Clinical Nurse Specialist Team to help develop and deliver services across organisational, professional and geographical boundaries. You will work closely with key areas of the Trust, forging close working relationships with the Trust urology consultants and CNS from other specialties. You will also have managerial responsibility as to manage the staff in the urology outpatient’s department. You must be highly motivated with strong leadership and excellent communication skills.
