Job overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and highly motivated applicant to join our Surgical Clinical Governance Team as a Band 7 Governance Coordinator.
To oversee and help ensure the delivery of high quality, safe and effective care focused on improving outcomes and experiences for patients, families and carers. As a member of Surgery Divisional Governance Team to lead and be accountable for quality governance deliverables.
Main duties of the job
- The role includes:
- With the Divisional Governance Lead being accountable for quality governance deliverables within the Division.
- The role supports the Division by playing a pivotal role in ensuring the understanding and effective use of the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF) so that it is used to improve the outcome for people who use our services.
- To work with the Divisional Governance Lead to develop, implement and monitor the operation of the Trust’s Quality and Risk Management strategies and associated policies within the divisions and directorates.

Education and Qualifications
Essential criteria
- RGN or other professional registration
- Previous experience in Governance
- Educated to Degree level
Desirable criteria
- Educated to Masters level
Knowledge and experience
Essential criteria
- Experience within medium to Large NHS organisition
- Experience managing complaints, systems and processes
- Experience of Audit
Desirable criteria
- previous experience of liaison with national / local teams to facilitate change
Skills, abilities
Essential criteria
- ability to resolve conflicts and negiotiate a way forward
- articulate and advanced written and verbal skills
Applicant requirements
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
