Job overview

The nursery nurse works as part of the Neonatal unit under the supervision of registered nurses and -:

-Participates in the delivery of care

-Contributes towards the department organisation

-Supports registered nurses in the provision of a safe and caring environment for babies and their families

Main duties of the job

Ensure a welcoming, caring and safe environment is provided for the patient and their families.

-To support Family Intergrated Care on The Neonatal Unit

- To assist and support in delivering care to infants and their carers in the transitional care and special care nurseries. 

-demonstrates a level of skill and understanding which enables them to undertake specific tasks delegated by the nurse in charge and in accordance with relevant guidelines, policies and procedures.

- Undertake both routine and specially  identified tasks for which they have been trained and assessed as competent.
