Main duties of the job
- To be responsible for the assessment of patient care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of plans of care, ensuring high standards of evidence-based care using a defined model of care.
- To undertake all nursing procedures in accordance with Trust policies and ensure that these procedures and policies are understood and adhered to by all staff, within own management responsibility.
- The post holder is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care of post-operative patients and critically ill patients (Level 2) in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team.
- The post holder will assume over-all responsibility of the unit with support from matron and unit manager.

- Essentials - PACU/HDU Course
- Registered Nurse
- 6-9 months post PACU/Equalent Course
- Can work in a team and demonstrate good team work
Desirable criteria
- Experience of managing, supervising new staff
- Leadership and team building skills
- Competent to administer intravenous medication
- Good interpersonal skills
