The successful candidates must have few years of gynae experience and able to demonstrate that they can manage a dedicated team to deliver highest standard of care to our patients. Strong interpersonal communication skills are essential to work collaboratively with the team .
Able to work independently in all specialties' and able to prioritize workload . You should be competent with good knowledge base , proactive and flexible and have a keen eye for detail to maintain our excellent care standard, able to take on a lot of responsibilities. eg stock control /ordering of gynae consumables and taking care of various gynae equipment's/audit/ training newly appointed staff on rotation.
Main duties of the job
Advanced Practitioners for all specialties' Colorectal /General /Gynaecology/Urology / (ODPs/Nurses) we would love you to join our friendly and dynamic theatre team at Croydon Elective & Emergency Surgical Centre within Croydon University Hospital.
In light of the recent pandemic, the department has changed the way it provides its service to the Croydon Community. The successful candidates will have an opportunity to work in the Croydon Elective /Emergency Surgical Centre which provides a wide range of surgical procedures . You will be expected to maintain a high flow through the operative environment . Work as part of the multi-disciplinary team supporting the Emergency Surgical Centre that has 4 Operating Theatres which caters to Trauma Orthopaedic/General (NCEPOD) .
We are amongst the top 3 hospitals in London with our theatre elective activity and have proudly resumed over 100% pre-Covid elective activity. This has been achieved through inspiration and motivated multi-disciplinary teamwork and changing our footprint within the hospital and our ways of working to ensure patients have their elective surgery as soon and as safely as possible.
We are keen to receive applicants with a strong scrub background in more than one specialty .

• The Sickle Cell and Thalassemia Centre in Thornton Heath

Education and Qualifaction
Essential criteria
- Registered Practitioner with NMC or HCPC (Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner)
- Relevant knowledge – e.g. Gynaecology/General /Urology- equivalent
- Evidence of continued professional development
Desirable criteria
- Post registration educational qualification – Assessors or equivalent
Skills and knowledge
Essential criteria
- In depth and proven knowledge/skills of the key area of Gynaecology
- Able to organize and manage the day to day departmental/ Gynaecology activities
- Problem solving skills – able to respond to unexpected issues and provide first line response and to identify appropriate sources of secondary support
- Team building skills- interpersonal / people management
Desirable criteria
- Teaching/Training experience
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of clinical supervision in an area; including management of staff, resources and staff
- Demonstrable interest in and commitment to the professional development of others - including undertaking appraisals
- Significant post graduate experience in operating theatres, with particular experience in area of key speciality
Desirable criteria
- Experience of analysing detailed information Experience of conducting own projects successfully and follow through action
- Roster management
- An understanding of issues related to financial management
- Previous experience of leading change in a clinical environment
- Experience of audit / research based nursing practice
