Job overview

 Croydon health service integrated safeguarding team (CHSIST) are seeking to appoint an experienced specialist practitioner with in-depth knowledge of child protection and advanced analytical skills for safeguarding children.

The post holder will be required to rotate between working
as the MASH health professional within the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH), based within Croydon Local Authority premises and Safeguarding Advisor role for CHSIST (includes adult,
maternity and children looked after).

Main duties of the job

The main duties include not only rotating in to Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH), But also:-

Supervision  including group and 1 to 1 supervision.

Covering  acute service in the hospital including emergency department.
Attending  Croydon Safeguarding Children Partnership (CSCP),  MARAC (Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conference),  MACE (Multi-Agency Child Exploitation).

Essential criteria
  • Registered Nurse / health visitor/School nurse or equivalent
  • Degree qualification or equivalent
  • Relevant post post registration qualification

Knowlege and undestanding

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of MCA, safeguarding children legislation and children's act's and working together
  • Knowledge of safeguarding risk
  • Sound understanding of safeguarding governance

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Safeguarding post qualification experience ( what elements of safeguarding have been covered in their present role)
