Based at Northampton Dialysis Unit

We are looking for an enthusiastic well motivated Health Care Assistant to work in our Nurse led  Haemodialysis Satellite Unit based in Northampton. These are exciting times with the unit having relocated to new premises in  May 2023 which  enables us to increase patient capacity.

You must have experience working in the NHS and ideally hold an NVQ3 or equivalent. Previous experience in renal / Haemodialysis is desirable but not essential, as training will be given. The team that you will be joining is dedicated to training and promoting your continuous professional development.

The successful candidate will be flexible, demonstrate excellent communication skills, a commitment to personal and professional development and a desire to provide a high standard of care delivery to chronically ill patients.

Main duties of the job

  • Caring for patients receiving Haemodialysis
  • Commencing and discontinuing Dialysis
  • Monitoring patients during Dialysis
  • Ensuring unit is well stocked
  • Maintaining a safe environment by ensuring equipment cleaned regularly.
  • Assisting Registered Nurses when needed.
  • Act as a effective member of the team

Working for our organisation

Our new strategy, developed with the support and feedback of colleagues, patients, and partners, is our compass for the next seven years (2023-2030).

We have four primary goals:

  • high-quality care for all,
  • being a great place to work,
  • partnerships for impact, and
  • research and education excellence

And we will embed health equality in all we do - taking active steps to reduce the avoidable differences in healthcare that some people face, working in partnership with communities.

Our strategy is underpinned by new values and we will work to ensure they are an everyday reality for all:

  • we are compassionate,
  • we are proud,
  • we are inclusive, and
  • we are one team

This is an exciting moment as we look to the future with clarity on what we already do well and where we need to focus our energies to make an even bigger difference for the people we serve.
