Job overview

We are looking to recruit to our school age vaccination team to support  delivery of the national school programme.
We are seeking to recruit a registered nurse to be part of our innovative and dynamic Immunisation Team, dedicated to protecting the health of our populations across Blackpool, Wyre, Fylde and Lancaster localities through improving immunisation uptakes and delivering the school based immunisation programme, which includes the childhood flu programme.

Main duties of the job

The role will involve promoting and delivering the National Vaccination Programme across schools, nurseries and in the community. 

Gaining telephone consents from parents for their child's vaccinations.

Applicants should have, and be able to demonstrate, good communication and organisational skills along with good IT skills and the ability to work well within a team and independently.

Please note that these roles involve working at base and in schoosl and community sessions across the Trust footprint supporting the immunisation team, therefore flexibility and an ability to travel are essential requirements of this post. The Trust footprint covers Morecambe Bay and the Fylde Coast. 

The post is based at St Annes Primary Care Centre but the role will involve travelling to schools and clinics across the whole footprint.

 Hours to be worked over 3  to 4 days, dependant on the needs of the service,  on a fixed term basis- term time only.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To work as part of the Vaccination & Immunisation Team, taking a key role in the promotion, provision and delivery of the School Age Immunisation Programme.

To offer immunisations to the eligible cohorts of school age children, as directed by NHS England and Public Health England.

 Working as part of Universal Children’s Services, immunisations will be delivered in all schools, and community clinics as necessary.
