Job overview
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Paediatric Nurse with a minimum of 1 years post registration experience seeking to undertake an interesting and highly rewarding senior nurse role.
This post provides the opportunity for a forward thinking and experienced Paediatric Nurse with extensive clinical skills/knowledge in children’s complex physical needs to contribute to the co-ordination of a team of Health Care Support Workers, Nurse Associates and Staff Nurses in delivering individual packages of care.
The CPOC Team provides nursing and specialist healthcare to Children & Young People (CYP) in their own homes and schools who have an identified health need against the continuing care criteria. Support from a package of care facilitates the transfer home from hospital for many CYP and enables their families to manage their child’s complex health needs within the community to achieve an active life within their community.
The team are directly commissioned by the ICB’s via the Children’s Continuing Care Framework across Lancashire to deliver packages of care to children and young people with complex physical health needs. They are also commissioned to deliver support in schools and social care settings to individual children.
The post holder will ensure a high-quality, evidence-based service with clinical care pathways are delivered utilising available resource effectively in a safe and supportive manner when meeting the needs of CYP and their family.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will work shifts across the Lancashire footprint providing training and support to HCSWs whilst meeting the child’s health needs.
You will benefit from excellent management and peer support, opportunities to work alongside specialists, a personal and professional development plan. Caseload management and staff supervision skills will be developed within the role. A robust individual induction plan will be available.

- Professional Degree or equivalent
- Registered nurse qualification child branch
- Current Professional Registration with NMC
- Evidence of continued professional development
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of a broad range of assessment tools for children with diverse needs.
- Knowledge of a range of therapy techniques and programmes for children with diverse needs/ related to client group
- Knowledge of research, evidence-based practice and current issues relating to client group
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of working with children with complex needs and their families in community/non clinical setting
- Evidence of recent and relevant post graduate experience encompassing the field of practice that demonstrates an in depth knowledge of area
- Multi-disciplinary/multi-agency collaborative working
