A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen within our small unit – Gynae outpatients at The Tunbridge Wells Hospital
We are looking for a qualified nurse with enthusiasm for excellent patient care and someone who has a desire to work in women’s health and make a difference. Previous experience in a outpatients setting is desirable. We pride ourselves in delivering safe, high quality care to ensure the patients experience is a positive one.
Main duties of the job
You will be expected to participate and assist with hysteroscopy, gynaecological outpatients, rapid access, colposcopy and urogynae clinics and more.
You will liaise closely with the Band 6 and 7 to ensure efficient and effective bi-directional communication, in order to deliver a high quality service to the patient and their relatives. You will also contribute to the professional development of junior staff within the department and enhance their skills as a role model.
We work a variety of weekday hours depending on clinical activity. Occasional weekend work and cross site cover is required at times of high acuity.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Once your pre-employment checks have been completed you will be contacted by Recruitment to arrange your start date which will be in line with one of our Corporate Inductions.
Following your Corporate Induction you will be expected to attend the Trust’s 2-week Induction Programme for RNs, NAs, RMs, ODPs and Paramedics. The programme is full-time (please email [email protected] if this is problematic) and will involve travel to both Trust sites. The programme includes supernumerary shifts in the clinical area, classroom-based sessions and e-learning.
Please note that appointment to this post will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure & Barring Service Check at Enhanced Level. (Enhanced level now includes regulated checks against vulnerable adults and children)

Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse with NMC registration. Adult Branch
- Recognised Mentorship Course or willingness to undertake.
Desirable criteria
- Specialist course relevant to area
Experience & Knowledge
Essential criteria
- A working knowledge of the use or research in developing nursing care and clinical product
- Having an in-depth knowledge of the issues surrounding the scope of professional practice and accountability
Desirable criteria
- Understanding of the principles and processes involved in clinical governance
Skills
Essential criteria
- Experience as a qualified nurse
- Possess a high standard of communication skills, both written and oral.
- Be able to effectively co-ordinate workload and liaise with the multi-disciplinary team.
- Be able to work independently and as part of a team
- To show enthusiasm to develop new innovations and skills to enhance practice.
- To possess good inter-personal skills.
