Our inpatient care and management is overseen by a Matron along with a team of Registered Nurses, Healthcare assistants, Physiotherapists, Occupational therapists Rehabilitation assistants, Care management staff, a Pharmacist and our visiting medical officers. Community hospitals provide a range of comprehensive healthcare services for patients over the age of 18 and in some sites also outpatient services
Our hospitals are nurse-led and focus on holistic rehabilitation and therapy for people who need extra help to get home, or who are nearing the end of their life.
It’s a relaxed atmosphere, but it’s never a breeze – you’ll need to think on your feet and be confident in making independent clinical decisions on behalf of the patients in your care

Main duties of the job
Our bed management team provides clinical triage and bed allocation for our 9 community hospitals across Kent. This includes considering ward acuity, staffing, patient needs and goals to best inform bed allocation using the GIRFT principles.
The team have strong links and lines of communication with acute hospital trusts and other services within the locality. The team work closely with the wider MDT providing a holistic approach to patient care
Your patients could be any age, but they'll often be elderly, while others may have been recently discharged from acute hospital, be terminally ill or have physical disabilities.
As a Band 6 Bed Manager you will work as part of a team to keep people safe and well in our community hospitals. You will use your clinical judgement to support evidence-based care planning and make sure that people who use our services have a good experience

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Registered health care professional (NMC or HCPC registration)
- Health related degree and evidence of relevant post graduate development at Level 6
- Evidence of Specialist qualifications relevant to area of practice (examples –: non-medical prescribing; mentorship, coaching, clinical expertise)
- Experience in health improvement environment
Desirable criteria
- PRINCE 2 or equivalent project management training
- PTLLS/DTLLS, PGCE or Certificate in Education
- Working towards Master level study
- Management or supervisory qualification or experience of study
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience in area of practice
- Practical experience in managing health related projects/complex caseloads
- Supporting others (mentor / educator / supervisor) experience

- Experience of leading and managing teams
