Clinical Support Worker - Galton Day Unit

We are recruiting for a Clinical Support Worker who shares our ambition and vision to deliver the Best of Care by the Best People and has the drive to take us forward, by ensuring that the Trust continues to be the first choice for patients and our staff.

To assist the nursing team to ensure the day to day running of the Chemotherapy unit is maintained to the highest standard. 

The post holder will be responsible for supporting the nurses with observations, venepuncture, PICC and PORT flushes using posiflush, and dressing changes. 

Once competent in Venepuncture, PICC and PORT flushes, and have completed the trust's care certificate, there is the opportunity to be uplifted to a Band 3 Senior Clinical Support Worker,  the post holder will have the expectations to be able to  run their own phlebotomy and central line clinics.

The employee will work closely with the nursing team and nurse in charge to know what tasks are required on a daily basis.

The employee will be responsible for using the relevant IT systems to identify patients who require treatment. They will be competent in taking and acting on observations. 

The employee will be competent in venepuncture, or willing to learn.

The employee will be competent in Line flush or willing to learn, and PICC dressings.

The employee will be responsible for maintaining mandatory training, and adhering to trust policies.
