 We are expanding our endoscopy service and need a motivated team leader for our Decontamination department/nursing assistant team.

Ideal candidates’ will have previous experience of working in an Endoscopy setting. They will be motivated and hard working with the ability to take on responsibility when asked and work to Joint Advisory Group (JAG) standards.

 You will work within a multidisciplinary team and will get the opportunity to work closely with the doctors and nurses within the Endoscopy team.

Working days and or shift patterns will be agreed by the line manager to meet the needs of the service.  

Main duties of the job

Specific Responsibilities

1. Clinical responsibilities

Assist with recovery of sedated Endoscopy patients ensuring that

observations are recorded and nursing staff are alerted of any abnormalities.

Assesses patient condition through basic observations/assesses comfort of

patients.

Working in the decontamination area of the Endoscopy unit. Processing

endoscopes through the decontamination process and ensuring safe storage

of the clean scopes. Making sure that scopes are ready for use for each

procedure.

Assist within the endoscopy procedure rooms. Recording observations,

assisting with biopsy collection and ensuring the comfort and safety of the

patient.

Provides and maintains a high standard of total patient care at all times,

ensuring the dignity and self-esteem of the patient/client is preserved.

Ensure that the regular weekly water testing is completed and the samples

are sent promptly to obtain results
