KMPT is Seeking a Medical Devices Coordinator!

Do you have a passion for patient safety and ensuring medical equipment runs smoothly?

We are excited to announce an opening for a motivated and dynamic Medical Devices Coordinator to join our team at KMPT!

In this role, you will play a vital role in:

  • Overseeing the safe and efficient management of medical devices across the entire Trust.
  • Implementing strategies to achieve the highest standards in medical equipment use.
  • Proactively identifying and mitigating risks associated with medical equipment.

To be successful, you will ideally possess:

  • A strong commitment to patient safety and quality care.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
  • A keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • In-depth knowledge of medical equipment and relevant regulations (desirable).
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The post holder must hold a full, valid, UK driving license and have access to a car/vehicle to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010) and the ability to travel throughout the Kent region (essential

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

  • Managing the Central Alert System (on behalf of the organisation and cascading relevant safety alerts to the appropriate staff within KMPT.
  • Providing advice about the maintenance of all relevant medical devices used within the Trust against the Service Level Agreement with EME Services ensuring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met.
  • Developing and maintaining medical device risk registers and maintenance schedules across all services within the organisation.
  • Production of data reports on Medical device incidents received and actioned, CAS alerts, and field safety notices
  • Populate comprehensive approved medical devices electronic spreadsheet to capture all approved devices procured within organisation. For information, reporting, and quality assurance.
  • Acting as the Trust Medical Devices Safety Officer (MDSO
  • Provide training on Medical devices

Training, experience and knowledge

  • Professional clinical or nursing qualification or equivalent level of education
  • Minimum 2 years clinical or nursing experience
  • Significant understanding of patient safety and risks arising from the use of medical devices and equipment
  • Understanding of CQC Domain 5, Patient Safety.
  • Understanding of the Managing Medical Devices. Guidance for health and social care organisations. (MHRA, January (2021)
Meini prawf dymunol
  • Evidence of continuing professional development and training.
  • Experience in the management/use of medical devices and equipment which includes knowledge of technical clinical issues, use of equipment, patient and staff safety, evaluation, commissioning and competency training.
  • Knowledge of physiological measurements as applied to medical devices
  • Knowledge of national medical device related policies and guidance

Skills

  • Use of MS Office products for the production of reports, spreadsheets, analysis and information storage and retrieval.
  • Understanding of and ability to extract information from databases.

  • Able to review and deliver training on Medical Devices to other professional groups e.g. instruct nurses and doctors in medical device use and application
