Practice Development Nurse

NHS AfC: Band 7

Job overview

The Workforce Development, Education and Training Team (WDET) is a team within the Corporate Care Group that supports and delivers a wide range of education and training across the organisation and in partnership with local university and education partners and Kent & Medway ICB. We are committed to supporting clinical practitioners to deliver best practice and high quality, safe patient care through our education and training programmes. The Practice Development Nurse role is integral to the agenda of the Workforce Development, Education and Training Team and the Trust objectives.

The role of the Practice Development Nurse will hold a portfolio of responsibility to lead, deliver and continually develop educational programmes to support our growing nursing workforce and organisation. The role will require management of site based Clinical Skills & Learning Facilitators to support the WDET workstreams.

Main duties of the job

Working within the Chief Nursing Officer’s Workforce Development, Education and Training team to deliver through leadership and team working, the achievement of annual objectives.

Working for our organisation

We are one of the largest hospital trusts in England, with three acute hospitals and community sites serving a local population of around 700,000. We also provide specialist services for Kent and Medway.

We care about our patients and our people. We are focused on providing outstanding, safe patient care, and a positive working culture that benefits staff and patients alike. With our emphasis on staff training and development, a staff support scheme that’s second to none, and a healthy package of benefits, it’s easy to put down roots in East Kent Hospitals.

Applications for this role should be written by the applicant. If artificial intelligence (AI) programmes are used then the application may be rejected due to this document being an important part of the assessment process. This does not prevent applicants seeking appropriate support with applications should they need to for the purposes of any declared disability.

Please note that if you require a Certificate of Sponsorship to work in the UK you must declare this on your application form, even if you currently have a certificate of sponsorship or a work permit for another role and are already working in the country. Please note we are only able to sponsor candidates on a Skilled Worker Visa applying for roles Band 5 and above.
