A new opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic highly motivated Band 6 Junior Ward Sister who can demonstrate the highest standards and skills in nursing to join our multidisciplinary team in Danesbury Neurological Centre.
We welcome applications from experienced band 5s looking for a promotion, or existing band 6s who are looking to broaden their career in a rehabilitation setting.

Main duties of the job
We offer a supportive, friendly working environment where professional and career development is the norm. We operate a rotational 11.5 hour
shift working pattern and flexible options can be discussed.
The successful candidate will be:
- Experienced in working with care of elderly /rehabilitation following acute sector admission
- Willing to teach staff and lead change
- Have excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Competent to undertake clinical skills such as phlebotomy, cannulation and male and female urinary catheterisation
- Hold a full valid driving licence and access to a car to use regularly for business purposes is essential (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Overall manage Staff Nurses, Nursing Auxiliaries and support staff on a designated ward within the Rehabilitation Unit. Lead the Nursing Team in the provision of the highest standard of care to patients. Assess, develop and implement programmes of care.
PATIENT / CLIENT CARE
• Work collaboratively with patients, families, MDT and Social care to ensure patients receive timely and safe discharges
• Act as an advocate for patients and protect their rights and dignity

Essential criteria
- First level registered general nurse
- Mentorship qualification
- Evidence of post registration education and practice
Experience and Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Experience in senior role
- Experience in working with care of elderly /rehabilitation (Desirable)
- Experience of working with people who require rehabilitation following acute sector admission
- Teaching staff
- Leading change
- Leadership of professional / non-professional staff
