We are seeking an experienced and dedicated nurse/ ODP to support in the leadership of the theatre team for the new Hampshire Elective Orthopaedic Hub.
Excellent team working and communication skills are essential for this role along with a need to establish and maintain good working relationships within the multidisciplinary team and wider services to work collaboratively and co-operatively to enhance quality of care.
The successful candidate will provide direction and inspirational leadership to junior members of the multidisciplinary team; they will also be expected to work as an expert clinical practitioner providing high quality of care to patients and service users.
The postholder will support the theatre team leader in the management of general resources, both personnel and financial and to ensure the effective operation of the department whilst maintaining high professional and clinical standards.
Main duties of the job
To work predominantly in the scrub role to support Theatre Team Leader(s) in leading and managing the service within the department effectively and to deputise in their absence.

The post holder will provide skilled specialist assistance in the delivery of high-quality patient care throughout the Operating Department. The post holder will be committed to providing research and evidence-based practice whilst working as part of, and leading a multi professional team.

- Professional UK registration eg NMC, HCPC
- Post registration qualifications in field of expertise

Experience & Knowledge
Essential criteria
- At least 2 years at band 5 in orthopaedic theatre setting
- Experience in running Orthopaedic lists
- Evidence of continued professional development (CPD) clearly recorded for professional profile
- Evidence of significant post registration clinical work experience
Desirable criteria
- Experience of staff supervision and mentorship
- Advanced Orthopaedic knowledge and skills
- Experience of clinical audit
- Experience of project management/ service improvement
Skills & Ability

- Clinical skills appropriate to the relevant specialty
