Main duties of the job
An exciting opportunity has become available to join the Urology Advanced Nurse Practitioner team for a 9 month secondment. The team would welcome a motivated, enthusiastic, and friendly nurse to experience working as an advanced practitioner. In return the applicant would have the opportunity to extend their clinical skills in this interesting and dynamic specialty. The job role would be largely based in the surgical wards, as part of the enhanced recovery programme, assisting with ward round and specific outpatient clinics. Dependent on the applicants level of practice and interests, more breadth of role could be incorporated.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Working hours/days negotiable within the core hours of 0730-2000, Monday - Saturday. Please note, weekend working is minimal.
The ideal candidate will have a surgical background and experience or interest in urology.
The applicant should be be highly motivated and keen to progress their clinical skills.

Qualifications, knowledge and experience
Essential criteria
- Qualified Nurse (Degree/Diploma)
- Registered nurse on appropriate part of the register
- Evidence of supporting learners in practice
- Completion of all Nurse Practitioner competencies including History Taking and Physical Examination
- Evidence of on-going personal and professional development
- Significant Post Registration Experience within chosen specialty
- Broad awareness of wider Trust initiatives / pressures
Desirable criteria
- Independent Non Medical Prescribing Qualification
- Registered on MSc Pathway as an experienced practitioner
- Further study at Level 7 within relevant pathway
- Leadership qualification (RCN, LDC, Edward Jenner, Elizabeth Garret Anderson, Nye Bevan)
