Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- Provide a clean, welcoming environment for patients and relatives.
- Assess patients health care needs and complete all required documentation.
- Ensure patients requirements are met with dignity, compassion and empathy.
- Be non-judgemental in your approach to patient care and attitudes.
- Ensure any concerns are reported to the nurse in charge in a timely manner.

Qualifications / Training Required
Essential criteria
- Level 3 apprenticeship in healthcare, NVQ 3 in care or equivalent, or working towards
- Venesection
Previous or Relevant Experience
Essential criteria
- Previous HCA experience
- Logical and consistent work and career pattern
Desirable criteria
- Experience within a surgical pre-operative assessment service or women’s health
Aptitudes & Skills Required
Essential criteria
- Ability to communicate with a wide range of people
- Ability to work as part of a team and under own initiative
- Demonstrates compassion and a caring nature
- Ability to adjust to pressures of the job/situation and prioritise workload effectively

- Able to work flexibly across the whole service and adaptable to work a range of shifts
