Job overview

The education team has an exciting and new opportunity to join us as a Practice Education Facilitator. This role will have a specific focus on supporting Health care support workers working across the division.  

Their focus will be on supporting new healthcare support workers, developing current staff and implementing evidence based practice.

The successful candidate will be an excellent role model and provide clinical support to staff. 

They will need to be able to work autonomously and proactively to positively influence the quality of the clinical learning environment

Working collaboratively with both the clinical team, education team and HCSW hub will be imperative to the success of this role.  

The education team offers opportunities to develop your career in both your clinical and educational portfolio. You will supported to develop the required skills needed to support others both clinically and in a class room.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

* Provide a visible clinical profile, having an advisory and clinical input into the development of 
staff focusing on health care support workers working within the division. 

* Build and promote positive relationships with all stakeholders involved in practice education. 
Including, but not limited to education centre teams, clinical leads, subject specialists, simulated 
patients and external partners. 

* Communicate effectively with staff at all levels in the organisation in non-clinical, clinical and 
clinical roles including senior leadership teams and medical roles. 

* Prepare and present practice based education and development to a mixed audience with 
differing levels of knowledge, presenting ideas in ways that promote understanding, through a 
variety of media and communication aids. 

* Work collaboratively with clinical and non-clinical teams to support the development of staff 
including students, practice educators, preceptors, trainees, and members of the wider multi professional team. 

* Contribute to the quality process, by identifying and acting appropriately regarding incidents of 
poor practice through clinical incident reporting, audit and research. 

Person specification

Qualifications, knowledge and experience

Essential criteria
  • Registered professional OR relevant equivalent experience relating to clinical fields working at Band 4 or above.
  • Evidence of continuing educational development at degree level or relevant equivalent experience
  • Some experience of clinical teaching within the health care setting
  • Proven employment history and experience in clinical setting
  • Competent in clinical skills
Desirable criteria
  • Certificate in education
  • Has experience working within a busy general ward or educational setting
  • Knowledge of undergraduate education
  • Knowledge of current healthcare support worker/nursing/nursing associate education
  • Knowledge of apprenticeship education
  • Knowledge of the wider healthcare agenda
