Working for our organisation
We are looking for a Band 3 Senior Healthcare Assistant to join us in Children’s Outpatients. You will need to be enthusiastic, motivated and a team player.
The Children's outpatient department provides regional and local specialist tertiary clinics for children and young people up to the age of 18. We are 1 of only 5 children’s outpatient departments that see every specialty in excess of fifty thousand, babies and young people a year.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Establish and maintain communication with a range of people on a range of matters in a form that is appropriate to them and the situation.

Qualifications / training required
Essential criteria
- NVQ 3 in Health or Childcare or equivalent
- Numeracy skills and Literacy skills at level 1 or 2 (or equivalent).
Desirable criteria
- Experienced and competent in additional clinical skills, as per job description.
- Keyboard skills.
Previous or relevant experience necessary
Essential criteria
- Proven experience in a caring role.
- Understanding of acute hospital environment and the role of SHCA.
Desirable criteria
- Previous HCA experience.
- Previous experience of working with the general public.
Aptitudes and skills required
Essential criteria
- Literacy and numeracy skills.
- Ability to communicate with wide range of people.
- Ability to work as a team member.
- Ability to work under own initiative and prioritise workload
- Ability to adjust to pressures of job.
- Good interpersonal skills
