“What do you value in your nursing role?”

We welcome applications from newly qualified nurses

We are a team of highly skilled, dedicated and caring nurses who strive to make a difference to the local people within our community, who use our services. Caring is at the heart of what we do and this motivates us to deliver the best quality care we can . We are proud of our recent achievement within our CQC report 2022 for our end of life community service, which was judged to be ‘outstanding’ in the caring domain.
We are looking for caring, compassionate and hardworking nurses, who want to make a difference.

Job satisfaction is an important part of maintaining a happy and motivated workforce, employees want to go home feeling that they have made a difference to service users and also value the support they provide to colleagues during their working day.

As a community nursing team our service covers 8am to 8pm. As a member of the team you would be expected to work either part time or full time over a shift system which includes early and late shifts across 7 days including weekends and bank holidays. As a trust we have an excellent flexible working policy and work in partnership with our staff to meet the needs of the service.

We are a modern trust, which means whilst on the go you’ll be equipped for mobile working (using a laptop and smart phone device); not only is this safer because you will have access all patient information at your fingertips, it also means you can complete records and any other patient paperwork in real time, so you can then focus all your attention on your next patient.

The qualification, training & experience requirements for the role are underlined in the Job Description/Person Specification.

Gweithio i'n sefydliad

We have in excess of 5000 staff working over 50 sites, providing a diverse range of services. We strive to support an organisational culture that is welcoming, builds and celebrates inclusivity and diversity and provides a sense of belonging and trust.

The annual NHS Staff Survey gives our people the opportunity to tell us about their experience working at the Trust.  For the 2023 survey just over 2800 colleagues gave us their views (58.5%).   It was great to see from the results that colleagues are saying that:

  • 89.7% believe they are making a positive difference to patients/service users;
  • 73.3% would recommend the organisation as a place to work;
  • 82.4% agree that care of patients and service users is the organisations priority;
  • 76.7% would be happy with the standard of care for a friend or relative

Our results put us as 5th nationally as a Community, Mental Health and Learning Disabilities NHS Employer of Choice and 1st equal amongst all NHS Provider Trusts in the South West. However, we know we have more to do and will continue to drive forward our commitment to making GHC a Great Place to Work.
