Job overview
Working as an integral member of the cardiac liaison team, the post holder will be responsible for ensuring the patients referred to cardiology are seen in a timely manner. They will ensure patient information is available and management plans followed regarding the patient’s pathway during their hospital admission. The post holder will have excellent communication skills to liaise with the MDT/ BTUH and CTC cardiac wards
Main duties of the job
- To take a role, with supervision, in the assessment and management of patients presenting to Acute Assessment Units, A & E department and wards within Mid Essex Hospital requiring cardiology input.
- Liaising closely with the cardiology team to ensure that those patients identified are seen and managed in a timely manner.
- Acts as a liaison between the Acute Medical team, Cardiologists, CNS, ward nurses and MDT ensuring timely review of cardiac patients including advice and requesting specific tests and appointments
- Collecting and reviewing cardiology referrals throughout the day and signposting to the most appropriate clinician e.g. cardiology consultant/ cardiology registrar/|CNS and BTUH cardiac doctors and nurses.

- 2 years experience in an acute medical/ cardiac setting
- nursing degree
