We are excited to be able to announce that with new mental health transformation funding we will be launching a service aimed at identifying and supporting those at risk of developing psychosis symptoms - an ARMS (At Risk Mental State) service. This service will be separate too, but under the umbrella/have close links with /of existing Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) services. There will be a number of new posts in this new multi-disciplinary team aimed at offering predominantly, but not exclusively, psychosocial interventions with an evidence base of mental health prevention. This post will be part of that new team”
Main duties of the job
The ARMS Recovery-Co-ordinator will be responsible for coordinating the care of clients with high-level At Risk Mental State (ARMS) within the ARMS Service. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care in accordance with NICE guidelines and National Early Intervention (EI) Access and waiting time standards. Responsibilities include risk management and collaboration with team members to support service users effectively.

Service Expansion Announcement:We are pleased to announce the launch of a new ARMS (At Risk Mental State) service, made possible through recent mental health transformation funding. This service aims to identify and support individuals at risk of developing psychosis symptoms. Although it will operate independently, it will maintain close links with existing Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) services. The new multi-disciplinary team will predominantly offer psychosocial interventions backed by evidence in mental health prevention. This post will be an integral part of this innovative team.

Person specification
Education/Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Educated to degree level or equivalent with evidence of further study. Registered with NMC, Social work England or HCPC.
- Mentorship or equivalent qualification.
- Evidence of personal and professional development in contempary mental health
Desirable criteria
- Certificate in a psychotherapeutic/ psychosocial intervention
- Training in use of CAARMS ( Comprehensive Assessment of At Risk Mental State ) assessment tool
- Family Intervention training
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of psychosis.
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of young people’s mental health
- Excellent knowledge of Early Intervention National Guidance
- Excellent knowledge of the importance of physical health management in mental health.
- Excellent knowledge and skills in risk management
- Varied mental health experience.
- Maintain own mandatory training and undertake other training as required
- Understanding of recovery and Wellness Recovery Action Plan ( WRAP)
- Awareness of trust policies
Desirable criteria
- Understanding of Ultra high risk/ At risk mental state.
Skills/Experience
Essential criteria
- Literate in IT/Computer Skills
- Able to make good use of clinical supervision in a group and/or individual format
- Liaise with other teams and services including external agencies as required for the patient recovery journey.
- Experience of working in an acute/community mental health setting
- Experience of working in multidisciplinary setting
- Competent in leading and prioritising in a busy environment
- Provide effective appraisal and supervision at grades 3 and 5
- Ability to problem solve and to deal with everyday issues
- Work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Excellent observation skills
- Able to give clear concise verbal information
- Excellent record keeping skills
- Advanced IT skills, including use of Word, Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Powerpoint.
- Ability to work in partnership by developing and maintaining constructive working relationship with colleagues and all relevant agencies
- Experience in delivering care in accordance with the Recovery Model
- Provide care to promote social inclusion
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working within young people’s mental wellbeing services
- Experience of working in Substance misuse services
- Experience of working with neuropsychological conditions
