Job overview

The Clinical Trials department is seeking to appoint a Research Nurse to support the development and successful delivery of clinical trials at The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust. 

The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust is committed to the development of dynamic partnerships with Life Sciences Industry and the continuing expansion of the commercial research portfolio in order to maximise patient access to innovative treatments.

You will be support Nursing/AHP/Midwifery led research across the Trust, in line with the NIHR portfolio requirements, improving patient outcomes at the bedside, and raising the research profile for the non-medical research agenda.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for assessing and managing the care of patients and carers participating in clinical trials. This includes:

  • Close working practices with the Lead Research Nurse, R&D Staff, clinicians in research active directorates to ensure efficient delivery of high quality research.
  • Responsible for managing own workload autonomously in order to  meet recruitment targets.
  • Act as a research nurse for designated studies within the Trust's portfolio.
