The Princess Alexandra Hospital has an exciting opportunity for experienced and newly qualified nurses to join our highly motivated and innovative midwifery team within the Hospital.

Main duties of the job

As a Band 5 Nurse you will work on labour ward and the postnatal ward and be responsible for the  care needs for mothers/parents and babies in the postnatal period under the supervision of the midwife in charge, ensuring liaison with all relevant agencies.
The  post holder will obtain the required training and experience in clinical nursing practice to successfully achieve the required competencies that are essential for this role, this will include training in scrubbing.

As a Band 5 Maternity Care Nurse you will be expected to maintain a high standard of professional expertise to ensure the highest quality of nursing care is given.  this care will be evidenced based and holistic in meeting the needs of women/people in a variety of practice settings.
