Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for Senior Mental Health Nurse position in our Mental Health Hospital Liaison Team at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow, Essex. We are looking for 4 highly motivated, caring and forward thinking Band 6 Registered Mental Health Nurse who are committed, flexible, proactive, and enthusiastic. You must have a keen interest in liaising and collaboratively working with system partners. You will be instrumental in service development and contribute to the accreditation of the service.

Main duties of the job
For this post you will need to have excellent communication skills and the ability to work proactively in a multidisciplinary team environment. You will be expected to support the team and conduct biopsychosocial assessments, establish and manage care plans for patients who present at Princess Alexandra Hospital. As a Senior Mental Health Hospital Liaison Nurse, you will be expected to support STR workers, Associate Practitioners, Community nurses, Advanced nurse practitioners and the Clinical Lead in implementing effective changes within the team to ensure the service meets the Trust’s objectives.

Our EPUT NHS staff bank is an entity managed by the trust that hires clinical and non-clinical healthcare professionals to take on shifts at our trust hospitals and community settings. Here at EPUT we maintain our own bank of specialist staff to ensure that we are able offer safe and effective care at all times.
All our permanent staff are automatically enrolled onto the staff bank however this does not mean you have to work any additional shifts, but the option is there for you if you wish.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The post holder should work well under the overall supervision of the Advanced Nurse Practitioner and Team Manager. You will be required to undertake the duties of the post and also deputise in the absence of the Clinical Lead.
Active participation will be required in the training and education of learners allocated to the community settings, and will also encourage integration between the ward teams and the community services.
The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate being fully IT literate.
Support is given by way of regular meaningful supervision and appraisal, reflective practice and Trust wellbeing services of advice and counselling. Continuous Professional Development is supported and encouraged.
Successful candidates must be compliant with all mandatory training, obtain a satisfactory Enhanced Criminal Records Disclosure Certificate and hold full registration with the NMC or registered allied health professionals.
