EPUT was formed on 1 April 2017 following the merger of North Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (NEP) and South Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (SEPT). A new leadership team was established at the Trust in 2020.

An opportunity has arisen within the Colchester SCMHT for a 12 month fixed term contract.   The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high quality, patient centred, compassionate care under the direction of a registered nurse with a focus on promoting health and independence.

They will be professionally accountable and work as part of a designated clinical and care team delivering care that focuses on the direct needs of the individual. The Nursing Associate carry out specific clinical and care tasks and responsibilities to a high standard and competency, under the direction of a registered nurse and have the ability to work without direct supervision, at times delivering care independently in line with the individual’s defined plan of care, within the parameters of practice of the Nursing Associate role. They will access clinical and care advice when needed.

The responsibility of the postholder is to participate in the planning and delivery of individual care provided by the multi-disciplinary team. They will work independently under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, providing holistic evidenced based high quality care to patients and will be professionally accountable for their actions. They will supervise and delegate appropriately to support staff within the team and they will support and supervise students and learners who are on placement.

Our EPUT NHS staff bank is an entity managed by the trust that hires clinical and non-clinical healthcare professionals to take on shifts at our trust hospitals and community settings. Here at EPUT we maintain our own bank of specialist staff to ensure that we are able offer safe and effective care at all times.

All our permanent staff are automatically enrolled onto the staff bank however this does not mean you have to work any additional shifts, but the option is there for you if you wish.

If you are joining our Trust in a fixed term role, please indicate on your New Starter Paperwork that you wish to join our staff bank.
