Job overview
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, experienced Healthcare Assistant who is looking to develop their knowledge and skills working within the Children’s Ward, Elective Care & Outpatients at Colchester Hospital.
This role is a vital role within Children’s Services, providing essential support to clinical staff with the recording of observations including the accurate recording of the height and weight of patients and adding to our Evolve system. You will also be competent in children’s phlebotomy or working towards this. In addition, the successful candidate will be a chaperone for the clinical staff when required so excellent communication skills are essential.
Part time hours will be consider for the right candidate.

Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will work as part of the nursing team within Children’s Services to provide a high standard of child and family centred care. The post holder will be an advocate for children and their families.
They will promote child focussed, family-centred care and provide effective liaison with the multi-disciplinary team and other professional colleagues and agencies involved within the child’s care.
The post holder will act as a role model in the delivery of patient care, support and teach staff contributing to the development of the service.
