Job overview

We are looking for Registered Nurses to join our enthusiastic and motivated Emergency Department based at Colchester Hospital.

We have full time and part time opportunities available 

You will have proven registered nurse experience in an acute environment, ideally within emergency medicine and have the desire to work with patients who present to the Emergency Department.

We will support you to develop skills in emergency nursing. You can expect to work in a progressive and motivated team who will actively encourage your development in emergency nursing.

Main duties of the job

Be responsible for the delivery and maintenance of high standard individualised evidence based patient care and supervising others in delivery of care.

Demonstrating a professional manner and good communication skills in all aspects of your work.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • • Registered Nurse
  • • Evidence of ongoing professional development
Desirable criteria
  • • Recognised trauma course (ED only)
  • • Relevant teaching and mentoring qualification

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Awareness and understanding of current Government/Trust initiatives/NMC Code of Conduct
  • Good knowledge of infection control procedures/initiatives
Desirable criteria
  • Competence in ED specific skills, e.g. triage, plastering

Experience

Essential criteria
  • • Proven NHS experience
