We have an exciting opportunity to join our nursing team on the Paedaitric Unit at Basildon Hospital.
This role is for a Band 6 Sister/ Charge Nurse. We are a busy Paediatric Unit comprising of two wards, Puffin and Wagtail and the Penguin Day unit.
As a Band 6 Sister/ Charge Nurse, you will take charge as the Nurse Co-ordinator and provide support to the Children's Emergency unit and Children's Out-Patient department
Main duties of the job
Duties will include caring for children and families in the acute paediatirc unit, provide support to the junior members of the team, coordinate beds across the service ensuring smooth flow.
The Band 6 sister/charge nurse is an experienced practitioner who can respond to conflicting demands.
The Band 6 Sister/ Charge nurse is expected to deputise for the band 7 ward managers and act in a calm professional manner at all times.
The role includes staff coordination across the paediatric service ensuring each area has safe levels.
