An exciting opportunity has become available for a band 6 Specialist Nurse Nurse to join an enthusiastic, forwards thinking, multidisciplinary team, within the Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) 

PICU is a 10 bedded mixed unit where all patients are nursed under the Mental Health Act. Patients within the PICU are experiencing an acute episode of mental ill health and require a range of specialist interventions.

As a valued staff member you can expect to receive a comprehensive induction into the trust and to the team. A bespoke training passport has been developed for all PICU staff. Staff wellbeing and support is very important to us and we have various embedded systems in place to promote this, including regular clinical and managerial supervision, weekly reflective practice, team discussions after all shifts and 6 monthly team away days. 

As a Specialist nurse on PICU you will be an integral part of the multidisciplinary team providing a high level of specialist care, working towards a trauma informed model of care. You will provide high levels of clinical and professional leadership, supporting the management team to implement both clinical and operational policy, protocol, service/ practice development and change.
