Job overview

Are you a registered mental health nurse? We are looking to recruit a part mental health nurse who shares the philosophy of therapeutic optimism, promotes recovery & can deliver a person centred care approach in line with our menu of services across Primary Care Mental Health Networks.

We support adults in a primary care setting with the support of mental health and wellbeing coaches, Social Workers, Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioners, Peer Support Workers and Pharmacy technicians, led by a Clinical Lead. We work closely with GP's, East Riding Talking Therapies and Community Mental Health Teams with the hope to fill gap between primary care and secondary care.

The ability to communicate & work collaboratively with people & their families is an essential. The ability to commute within the Trust’s geographical area & access to an appropriate means of transport is essential.

Main duties of the job

·       Be personally responsible and professionally accountable for a caseload as part of the Primary Care Mental Health Network and lead and manage the work of others as required.

·       Independently carry out assessments, care planning and care co-ordination with excellent interpersonal skills, ability to listen to others’ views, respect and value individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds

·       Co-ordinate care, communicating with other professionals involved in the care and ensuring regular Care reviews are held as required. This will include communication with other teams for example Primary Care teams, community mental health teams, inpatient services, Addictions service and CAMHS services where appropriate

Qualifications and Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Part III or 13 of NMC live register
  • Post registration/graduate diploma or equivalent experience in related work area, to demonstrate advanced level of practice
  • Demonstrable experience of mentoring pre-registration students
  • Specialist knowledge across range of procedures underpinned by theory
  • Full understanding/application of relevant clinical practice/standards/audit within identified clinical area
Desirable criteria
  • Leadership training/qualification/experience
  • Non-medical prescribing

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD)
  • Evidence of promoting/supporting active user/carer involvement/participation
  • Evidence of development of specialist practice nursing skills

Skills and Competencies

Essential criteria
  • Able to demonstrate effective communication skills
  • Effective inter-personal skills and experience in supervising and mentoring
  • Demonstrate mandatory training and attendance for the management of violence and aggression
