In the summer of 2020, the Trust launched its ambitious ‘Building for our Future’ (BFF) programme. This once in a lifetime programme aims to redevelop and expand our hospitals at Eastbourne, Hastings and Bexhill, transforming the environment in which we provide care for generations to come.

Our centre for trauma services and obstetrics is at Conquest Hospital, while our centre for urology and stroke services is at Eastbourne DGH. At Bexhill Hospital we offer a range of outpatient, day surgery, rehabilitation and intermediate care services. At Rye, Winchelsea and District Memorial Hospital we offer outpatients, rehabilitation and intermediate services. At Uckfield Community Hospital we provide day surgery and outpatient care.

In the community, we deliver services that focus on people with long term conditions living well outside hospital, through our integrated locality teams working with district and community nursing teams. Community members of staff also provide care to patients in their homes and from a number of clinics, health centres and GP surgeries.

 

Job overview

Murray ward is 7 bedded busy 24- hour Early Pregnancy Unit, and Gynae Emergency  Ward. We have direct referrals from ED, GP's, out of hours, and self-referrals. We also do telephone triage and telephone advice.

We are looking for highly motivated individuals with some previous experience of healthcare either in the NHS or in the private sector.


We are looking for a hard-working, flexible, and a compassionate staff to join our unit. Applicants should possess with effective interpersonal and communication skills to provide a supportive atmosphere for women who has undergoing pregnancy issues and will always treat all our patients with dignity and respect. 


They must be able to work as a team and are committed to professional skills development.

Main duties of the job

To participate as a member of the nursing team providing the highest standard of patient care, ensuring patient comfort and safety.

Organise own work load and assist patients in all activities of physical and psychological nursing care reportin to a Registered Nurse 

To provide direct technical assistance to nursing staff when required, safely utilising electronic and mechanical/manual equipment

To recognise, acknowledge and take appropriatye action reporting to a member of trained staff when information is controversial, sensitive or distressing. 

To enter and update patient documentation and records, utilising on the computerised information systems.

To chaperone. assist, support Nursing and medical teams when reviewing patients.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Satisfactory general education including Maths and English plus evidence of additional training relevant to role
  • National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 2 in Health and Social Care or a relevant alternative Level 2 Qualification
Desirable criteria
  • National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 3 in Health and Social Care OR an acceptable, alternative Level 3 Qualification
  • Care Certificate
  • First Aid Certificate

Experience
